About

Here is my story…

I was baptized in 1983. Following the doctrinal changes within the Worldwide Church of God (WCG) in 1993, I spent five years in prayer, seeking God’s guidance regarding the nature of God. Then, in 1998, I began an extraordinary journey of discovery to understand who the true God of the Bible really is.

I would like to share with you the understanding and revelation that God has graciously granted me through this journey.

This subject is of the utmost importance. I encourage you to follow the example of the Bereans by praying, studying the Scriptures diligently, and even fasting as you examine this matter for yourself. Please do not assume that you already know who the true Almighty God is. I once believed I had the answer as well.

However, the conclusions I reached through careful study and earnest prayer were both unexpected and surprising.

Let’s start.

In 1998, around the time of my son’s birth, God answered a prayer that I had been bringing before Him for five years. Since 1993, I had been seeking a deeper understanding of God’s nature and asking Him to reveal more fully who He truly is.

My prayer was simple but profound: I wanted to understand more deeply who God is, to comprehend His nature, and to know exactly who Jesus Christ is. This search was prompted by the new teaching on the Trinity adopted by the Worldwide Church of God (WCG) in 1993. As I studied the subject, I realized that my understanding differed from the explanation being presented by the church.

Then I discovered what I consider to be the most beautiful understanding of the one true Almighty God revealed in the Bible. I was astonished by the truth that the Holy Spirit opened my mind to see. From that day forward, I have never stopped growing in my love for my Father and Almighty God.

It all began in the small fellowship group that my wife and I were leading. One evening, the wife of one of our members, who was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, joined us. During the discussion, she stated that she believed Jesus was not God, but rather the Son of God.

Without hesitation, I responded, “Come on, John 1:1 clearly says that Jesus is God.”

In my mind, I was convinced that she simply did not understand what she was talking about.

The conversation did not go much further that evening, but the question remained in my thoughts.

During that same period, while being led by the Holy Spirit, I was conducting a Bible study on the subject of the Holy Spirit. In the course of my research, I came across a webpage claiming that Jesus was not God.

My immediate reaction was, “What is this?”

Since that was not the topic I was studying at the time, I decided to set it aside and return to it later.

A few weeks afterward, however, I felt strongly compelled by the Spirit of Almighty God to investigate the matter more deeply.

While I was reading, I began to be shocked…and at the same time surprised and amazed by the content I discovered.

In fact, I discovered that 1 Cor.8:4-7 says exactly all the truth about this topic…

So, it is written: …and that there is no God but one (Being). For even if they are so-called gods (or Gods, there is not capitals in the original text), whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is but one God, the Father,… and one Lord, Jesus-Christ…

The Apostle Paul then adds: But not everyone knows this

Over many months, the Holy Spirit led me into a deeper study concerning who the Almighty God truly is, who Jesus Christ truly is, and what the Holy Spirit truly is. It was as though a veil had been lifted from my understanding.

I was also deeply impacted by the words of Jesus in John 17:3. Christ said ; Now, this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus-Christ (His son), whom you have sent.

So, the Father alone is the true Almighty God, and Jesus Christ is His son. (a god and messenger of the Almighty God).

This new understanding transformed my relationship with God and opened a new chapter in my spiritual journey.

Based on my study of the Greek text, I believe John 1:1 could be more accurately rendered as: The Word was with the God (ho Theon), and the Word was a god (theos).

It is crucial to understand that the Greek word theos is not always used with the same meaning. Its significance must be determined by the context in which it appears.

Ex. God, god, divine being, judge, God’s representative. See thayer’s lexicon for the different meanings.

Here are some examples that support this understanding. By comparing various Bible translations, we can see that the Greek word theos is not always rendered in exactly the same way, depending on how translators understand the context.

1808: and the word was a god. The New Testament in an improved version, Upon the Basis of Archbishop Newcome’s New Translation: With a corrected text.

1864: and a god was the Word. The Emphatic Diaglott, interlinear reading, by Benjamin Wilson.

1946: and of a divine kind was the Word. Das Neue Testament, Ludwig Thimme.

1950: and the Word was a god. New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures.

1958: and the Word was a God. The New Testament, by James L. Tomanek.

Joseph Henry Thayer, the theologian and scholar who worked on the American Standard bible said: The Logos was divine, not the divine Being himself.

And Jesuit John L. McKenzie wrote in his Bible’s dictionary: John 1:1 should be translated like this…the word was a divine being.

So, we see that the exact translation of John 1:1 says that Christ is not the Supreme God and is not a part of a Trinity or Binarity god.

To conclude this preamble, I would like to highlight two passages that, in my understanding, show that the Father is the God and Father of Jesus Christ in the same way that He is the God and Father of believers.

In John 20:17, Jesus said to Mary: Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God. (at that time, Christ was then resurrected).

And in Revelation 3:12-, Jesus says that: (while he sits at the right hand of the Almighty God), Him, who overcomes, I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the New Jerusalem, which is coming down out from heaven from my God and ….

I believe this passage speaks for itself, doesn’t it?

In this understanding, Christ serves the same God that we serve, the Father, whom Scripture identifies as the only true Almighty God. He has always been the servant of God, He is so now, and He will always remain the servant of God. Surprising, isn’t it?

Yes, something so clear and yet so confusing at the same time. The Trinity and Binarity hide these things and minimized Jesus’s sacrifice, because it is not God Himself nor a part of a Trinitarian or binary composition, who came down as a sacrifice for us. Rather, God truly sacrificed His own beloved Son for us (portrayed by Abraham and Isaac’s story) (1 Cor. 15:20-22), being cut of his presence for 3 days and 3 nights.

From this perspective, this was a real and profound sacrifice and trial for the Father…

(At the time of my study, this understanding was magnified to me because of the birth of my own son).

In conclusion, I have shared with you the basis of the revelation. It is clear God has begun to reveal Himself more fully to His children and servants, and He will do it to the whole world before Jesus Christ’s return. Many people have begun to understand what I just explained, and this is only the beginning.

There are also other groups (even people that came out from WCG) who share the same belief that the Father alone is the Supreme God. This is truly the fundamental understanding of the Bible.

Let’s not forget that worshiping the true God is the first and most important of all the commandments.

For me, it is of first importance to worship the true God. This truth has brought me closer to God and Jesus Christ than ever before.

John said that knowing the True God is the eternal life. (John 17;3)

In conclusion, I would like to share a comment from a former member of the Worldwide Church of God and the Global Church of God, Bryan T. Huie of Arkansas, USA.

Here is what he wrote after coming to his understanding of the true God in 1997:

Hi Michel,

It’s good to hear from a former WCGer.  I was also a member until January 1995.  God revealed the truth of His nature to me in early 1997, while I was a member of Global Church of God. Needless to say, I resisted it and studied Scripture to prove it wrong. In the end, I had to admit it was I (and my teachers) who had been wrong. I agree with you that many are coming to a more complete knowledge of the truth, and it generally seems to have started around 1996-1997.  Interesting, isn’t it?

This is what I wanted to share with you. You will find in this Website study documents related to the topic.

p.s. Please, don’t forget that we must be like the Bereans, not rejecting what may be brought to us, but examining and proving all things. This is what they did.

It is also what the Holy Spirit led me to do. Needless to say, I was quite surprised and even shocked by the extent of my previous misunderstanding.

But in the end, the blessings have been tremendous. Your journey through the Bible will never be the same!

May the Almighty God and the Lord Jesus Christ bless you richly, in truth.

Amen!

Please, give me some feed-back.

Sincerely,

Michel Danis
